Great idea, sirdizzy! I've thought about the Morgan/ASE combo before, but hadn't considered the UK and Canadian versions. You guys are giving me so many good ideas! Now, if I can find a way for my wallet to keep up.

I got a 1965 Elizabeth Churchhill crown and a 2010 Brittania coin today my first matched set and crown :)

Still need to grab another morgan as I bought the eagle for it today.

I also ordered the crowns of the world dansco album today can't wait to until it gets here, not much to put in it yet just the 6 silver bullion pieces and that UK crown.

I felt a little bad as I had the guy break open a MS70 anacs slab for the brittania I was like crap I am busting out a MS70 haha

they had the armenian noahs ark in ms70 too that puppy is likely to be freed from its slab too :)

I think I will put an ike in with the silver eagle for now when my album arrives.

I am totally getting excited about this its such a fun new project like when I first started doing my first 7070 set, so many new coins to add. Since I am down to 13 coins on my 7070 it just doesn't have that new fun aspect to it like a new set does :)

Just put in an order for the Benin Elephant. I hadn't heard of that one before this thread. At $50+, it's definitely on the outer limits of my budget, but it seems like a great looking coin and if it is only 5000 mintage and the first in a new series, it should hold or rise in value in the next few years. And, it lets me add a new country to collection! That's what my real motivation is anyway. I'm such a sucker for a silver .999 1oz coin.

In 2014 the best looking coin so far is Benin elephant.
I have got 10coin for $45/ea delivered at the time of issue.
Colored gilded have a higher premium right now, but in general threes coin lagging in price appreciation.

I added an Armenian noahs ark yesterday, takes me to 7 countries (Australia will be #8 with the Kookaburra but taking a break on this set as my next coin will be for my 7070 a bust half most likely).

I am up to
Chinese Panda
Canadian Maple Leaf
Great Britain Britannia
US Silver Eagle x2 (one for my 7070 and one for this set)
Mexican Libertad
Armenian Noah's Ark
Austrian Philharmonic

After Australia (I might grab both the Kookaburra and the koala as both are available at my LCS) I am not sure where to go. They had some of the Canadian wild life series not sure if I want to do those as I'd like more countries first.

Again, I don't consider proofs or limited edition or closed end sets, bullion.

So I would go for a Russian Saint George the Victorious or a Ukraine Archangel Michael. Both really nice bullion from countries no one really thinks about.

I have been looking for the Ukraine Archangel, but can't find it anywhere other than ebay. I'm a little skeptical of buying on ebay, especially since my eye isn't as sharp at picking out fakes as some others may be. Any ideas for where else you could get one?

Yea I wanted Russias Saint George since I am from a city called Saint George, I was clearing out my LCS selections first.

Shhhhh I cracked out Anacs MS 70's for both the Brittania and Noahs Ark. Thats all they had and they weren't much more expensive than there Silver Eagles at $28 a piece.

IMO: UNC's, Proofs, Rounds, and Bars, as long as they were struck with high purity PM like .999 or .9999 they are bullion. One piece might carry a higher premium than another at the retail level. But someone was in a real pinch and resorted to sell a proof coin at the local pawn shop, the pawn shop will offer them a little over spot, even though the coin cost 3-4 times more.

krugerrand, the bullion classic coin - not 999 purity
gold eagle, the next bullion classic coin - not 999 purity
britannia, bullion coin - not 999 purity

in my perception bullion is the coin that has metal and weight (less often purity) inscribed on the coin ...
