So, 20,000 grand for spending 4,960 PLUS 4 gold half dollars..so a 15k plus profit... nice day.
I saw in the article that they buyers plan to sell them on the tv show CoinVault..
Please tell me that people are not going to pay over 5k each? They will probably sell them for over 7k each.

Does anyone know if they have released a date when the silver set will go on sale? The gold coin is too expensive for me but I think I will get the silver set.

Dealers at the ANA show were paying $2000+ to anyone that would stand in line and sell their coin to them. Some of the big online stores bused people in so they could buy up most of the coins. The hope is the special graded label carries a premium like it does with the Reverse Proof Buffalo.

I heard several people talking about the first four who got the gold coins and the big money. They had been camping out since 10:30PM the night before.
So....good for them. I cannot for the life of me figure out why anybody has to have THE FIRST coins released -- but whatever.
Early yesterday afternoon, I saw dealers at the slab-it-now tables. Each of them had two to five of them to be slabbed.
I had wanted one, but there's no way I could stand in line for hours (I have MS) so I decided to forget about it and the more I think about it and about how many, many more MAY still be minted, I have decided to skip it entirely.

well.... I 'thought' I'd read it all thoroughly. LOL Must be really tired, eyes can't focus after looking at all those shiny coins. People line up for new Apple products days ahead of time so a newly released coin is not as in demand as a cell phone that is nearly identical to its predecessor. At least the coins are actually worth something.

Had I lived in the area of the show... I would have been there easily, all night long with no problems, and brought people with me..
How many have you folks waited all night for black friday sales... to spend money..
at 2g+ profit for buying coins, I would have done it.

I was traveling and couldn't participate in the madness and finally put my order in at about this time last night. Of course it's back ordered and the expected ship date is 9/10. We'll see if that gets pushed out. I'm debating whether to buy a 2nd one and sell for (hopefully) a profit to defray the cost of the one I'll keep. I expect I could at least recoup my costs plus a little, but would it be worth it? I certainly don't see these commanding 2x the retail price like the 25th Anniversary ASE sets. But retail plus $2-300? Perhaps. That would certainly help bring the coin closer to spot.

Hmmm... I received my e-mail confirmation from the Mint, but when I check the order status on-line I see the following: Quote: Order Status: Your order request is on hold Not sure what that means...

I don't get it. Will it be worth more if it was purchased at the show? These can still be purchased on the mint web site at the regular price. I'd expect that they will be on sale through the end of the year.
