with John1 looks like coin wrapper damage...

A PUP or Pick Up Point refers to the area on a coin to look at or focus on to find a given variety.

there are 17 different DDR for the reverse of 1939 Jefferson the most popular is the double Monticello is most desired but a good portion have other areas effects instead.

the DDR-015 has similar effected areas but has notching and rounding on those areas and the bottom of the fonts have a line of separation on them and is same thickness compared to flatten out or stretched from the contact damage.
