One more for today. I grade it at MS62, possibly MS63 on a good day.

Very minimal marks, probably magnified by the fact that the coin is (or just looks) PL, I'd say MS-63+ or even 64.

I think 62 as well, cheek looks a little baggy. You need to try to get more light on the front of the face in your pics, it's always a touch dark and is a primary focal point of grading Morgans, as I'm sure you know. I can see what looks to be some rougher areas under the eye, on the tips of the nose and on the chin, but it's hard to tell for sure with the lighting. :) Weak-ish strike is insignificant as a lot of the late-date O-mints have crap strikes.

Yep, that darker area on the front of the face is actually the blocking of light by the iPhone. It is really hard to get the light just right with my current setup. I'm practicing with axial lighting. Sometimes my images turn out better than others. The more lustrous the Morgan, the more difficult it is for me. I think its pretty good though, considering I don't use any professional equipment.

Have you tried shooting the coin upside down then rotating it after shooting it? That would at least get more light on the face although another part of the coin would just be darker, lol.

We must have been on the same wavelength earlier, CTB, because that is exactly what I thought about on my way to work. LOL. I will try this tonight when I get home. Who knows? It might make all the difference.

I flipped the coin upside down, and here are the results. A minor change brought moderate improvement. I also shot the reverse again just for the heck of it. The main problem you run into when using the iPhone is that the optimal focal distance is only 5 inches. It's kind of hard to fit a direct light source in front of the phone without said light source either being in the way or not fitting in that space period. Even so, I'm satisfied enough with these images.
