I'm not a roll collector but succumbed to temptation when I spotted the George VI set that have been in storage since the 1950's, I hope I didn't pay too much. I figured if I was to try to find and buy these in smaller sets I would probably pay more in shipping alone... What's the general consensus on this the total with shipping is just under $165

Since I was on a roll, (pun intended) I also picked up this 1960 to date 52 rolls for $80

Is there any help available for this Coin Collecting addiction?

I think those are fair prices for a well organized and labelled roll collection. When you get 50 grandchildren, you can make them all a date set.

Its hard to come by those older than 1940 in rolls, I have only found 1928, 1929, 1938, 1939 (Roll Searching for 3 years). I do have about 20 boxes still to search through though, so hopefully I find some more of them.

Thanks - appreciate the input - I was having a little buyer's remorse but feel better about the purchase now

Hi lucv13

I think you did very well; the 1937 is a tougher year to get and it's been running around the $20+ mark on ebay lately. The others are more common, but as ace says, the '38 and '39 are also harder to get than anything later. Go through all those pennies; you should find a good number of clashes, die cracks, and lamination flaws, and hopefully some of those good 1948 and '49 varieties. Lots of potential varieties and errors in the 1960-1982 rolls as well. Good score!
