Metaldetecting1210 New Member Canada 6 Posts	Posted 09/06/2014 5:17 pm Hello everyone I'm new to this sight.just getting into coins.need some help.I have a 1970 Roosevelt dime and where the mint mark is to me it looks like a 0 and not a d I showed it to a friend without telling them and they picked it up right away.anyone know of a error like this for that year? * Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. * Report this Post to the Staff

Fuzzy317 Moderator United States 14463 Posts	Posted 09/07/2014 01:11 am If the reverse is normal, then its a MAD. If the reverse is also misaligned, then its an off-center strike. Since there is part of the obverse design missing, it does have a small premium. And since you are questioning the mint mark, can you get a close up of that Report this Post to the Staff

Fuzzy317 Moderator United States 14463 Posts	Posted 09/07/2014 01:52 am For a MAD (misaligned die) and an off-center strike, the rim around the coin will not be even. It looks like the D mint mark, the 0, and part of the 7 took a hit from something. PMD (post mint damage) Report this Post to the Staff
