How we protect you.

ebay Seller Protection delivers detection systems, transaction monitoring, and policies that help make ebay a great place to sell.

Our dedicated Seller Protection team works behind the scenesâ€"every day, around the clockâ€"to enforce our Buying Practices and Seller Protection policies, so you can sell confidently and focus on your business.

Backed by a set of large-scale automated detection systems that monitor millions of transactions every day, our team keeps a look-out for anything that could cause problems for our sellers.

While you may never have to deal directly with us, you can sell confidently knowing that we're always here for you.

The only protection I have found selling on ebay is the ability to choose whom you sell to by blocking and canceling bids, & offering second chances. This is after all, an American company, so you have to sell like "mericans" do. As a a seller you reserve the right to refuse a sale to "anyone". I monitor my auctions closely, and look for those " Anyones". My phone alerts with new bids. so it helps with monitoring.

Just yesterday I took this action in fact. A bidder had no feedback for more than 6 month's (red flag 1), last 10 FB left for buyers were negative, neutral, or revised after case settled issue(red flag 2), blocked first then canceled. Later I received an email from him wanting to know why. I don't reply as my reasons are recorded with ebay. Should such a buyer snipe, I simply block, then offer second chance. To ebay its the same as cancelling the sale. They're not going to send someone to your house with a gun. The tools exist, you just have to know how to see them.

May I please ask if if that blocked sale was for a COIN?

I am small potatoes, in selling my IKE coins on ebay, & so far so good. But with the NEW ebay rules, I'm a little slow to get back to selling with the deck stacked against the sellers.

Thanks

No, actually it was for a pair of high end sunglasses, but the same rules apply to coins. Even if you sell as a "buy it now", as a seller, you can back out. ebay frowns upon it, but it is within the rules ebay has set forth. In my honest opinion, better than getting taken. The money from the sunglasses did go to pay for a coin, 5 in fact.

Thanks for the help.

I need//want to start selling some of my Ikes. Some ERROR coins, some TONED, & some PEGLEGs

To avoid problems with "DESCRIPTION", I will most likely just say something like "used 19xx Eisenhower dollar PEGLEG", with a few clear pictures.

The thought of having coin(s) coming back at me, is most discouraging, to even try selling again.

IMHO ebay is working on the BAD BUYERS with their "system" but it takes a long history of one buyer's misconducts, to ID the bad apples. The first sellers to do this are just cannon folder in ebay's world.

A single crummy buyer will use, harm, steal, belittle, hurt with NEGs, and run a muck several, good sellers before ebay will act. Any way that is how I see the math.

New Paypal worldwide policy nov.18 2014. They are extending their protection to 180 days or 6 months. A seller won't know for 6 months if you can spend the funds. This is just in time for the Xmas season. I wonder how this is going to effect coin dealers that except Paypal? I know this is really leaving a bad taste in my mouth. I never counted a sale as complete until 45 days expired. Another great JD idea, he ruined ebay and now since he's PP CEO it too.

Feedback anyone?

I forgot to add , losing a not received or not as described case, Paypal will no longer refund their portion of fees, when a refund is done. It will also earn a defect

Some sellers are looking to use Propay or Skrill as payment options; apparently these are accepted on ebay. I've never heard of these until now. As a seller I'd suggest reading all you can on new policy.
