Yes..ICCS did grade it MS ++ back in the 90's when all of these were done..I just wanted more feedback from a more recent perspective..

+'s or -'s always welcome ..different eyes see different things in a coin..

Develec, I would give your coin a split grade
Obv MS 64
rev MS 62.
Question: did you scan or use a camera. I ask because I can not see luster on that coin leaves me wondering if it was cleaned at some time OR if you used a camera with perhaps not the correct settings. A very close macro close up with too much light sometimes has the same effect.
ok, final: MS 62 and, sorry my friend, until I have coin in hand, cleaned.
Please say that I am wrong with the "C"...

here is my 1894,

just curious, how would you guys grade it? (it is ICCS graded, but?)
it is not cleaned, even though it might look like it.

47P7 I'm not too sure how to grade vickies, but I'm gonna guess and say something like AU55.

Macro lens ..Nikon D50 and a lot of angling to clearly get through the plastic..

No details or cleaning on this ICCS label..

MS++ by Brian here ,..and I figure that he's handled more than most seeing as the 5 cents are "his baby"..So you think that the movement in the center reverse is "loss of luster".

.. I do have a couple of high grade 5 cents silvers that have 'some reflectivity' and obvious die polishing in them,.. seem more in a couple of my reverses..

..I'm not counting the mirrored 1858 of mine either..It was labeled by ICCS's as a "First strike"..and I find that cool for a label ..

..and nickesguy challenges that because I wasn't there for the striking..I countered that "I was there for the striking"..

a 58 classified as mirrored... wow.
how does one grade that? I have never seen a designation of that in Nickels.
thought I had something similar in a 1858 20 cent, but no such luck.
On the overall it actually not right, or fair to grade using pictures of coins, never mind when they are "locked up" in some kind of plastic. I should not do it, but often fall for a comment and later regret having made it. I used your coin obv and compared it with mine-obv. hence my comments.
sorry my friend, not harm meant.
what size is your macro lens? I use a 90mm and I think I will get one in the 150 to 180 length as the lighting will be easier to handle and it still will be sufficient for great shots.

47P7.. The light in your pics comes steeply up from the bottom and makes for long shadows here.
The reverse looks perfect except for a small rim ding at 8 o'clock. So it really shows perfect..

The obverse shows a touch less detail in the hair in front of her ear ..(when compared to mine). IMHO..

Depending on 'when' it was graded, it could go from MS 63 or even AU 58..The overall "touch of blurriness" and deep shadows keeps me guessing here..We know that pics don't work well for any grading..

Are your pics showing any contacts by her chin or on her cheek... or is it just marks in the plastic?

As you've said.."Viewing them in hand" makes all of the difference ..That's a great 94 ...and glad that you could add it here..

We're playing "Tic..Tac..Toe" here as I miss your previous reply... as I'm composing mine...

My lens is a 50 mm 1:2.8 DG MACRO "D" as the back-up lens (or close-up lens) for this NIKON D80..

Previously,..I said that it was a D50..my mistake on that..as it's a D80..

Remember..My 1858 was labeled .."First Strike" as it's obviously not a specimen, but exhibits many details found on the rare specimens of that date.
The rims are business strike rims on my 1858 and I've never seen another vicky "First Strike" on any label..and I've been asking ..and looking..so it's very tough too...
.. and maybe tougher than the actual SP's from 1858..

Now I am caught up. Sorry for the bad pics on theses ones. The '93 is EF45 and the '94 is AU50. Hard to shoot through plastic.
