Dredge...Thanks for all of those..and the 98..I like that one especially..because I don't have one....

..and tfred..Thanks for catching up..

Zonad...Don't stop !!..Yours are always "the best of the rarest" ..

And my 96..

My 8 has a few extra beads in the lower loop and it is a bit different and not explained in the Charlton..possibly an 8/3 with a bit extra in there..

Zonad has a well equipped basement shop with all the newest high tech equipment.
every month when full moon comes around he goes to his basement with a couple of 12-packs, some great ideas, and he lets his imagination go to work with dremels, hammers, files and all these other tools.
that is one explanation of how he gets all these absolutely incredible mint errors.
the other explanation is this: he has a nose, sort of a 5th sense, for finding these rarities everywhere. And he has many "spies" looking out for him.
please show us your most prized error... even if it is not a nickel ( hopefully that is ok with all the other members )
I am amazed every time he shows a new one.
Kepp on searching Zonad, maybe one day I will sell you my errors. and I know, you would want them.

Zonad...Show them the vicky quarter that was off-struck 5-6 times. That's my personal favorite error of yours and coolest error coin I have ever seen. Always enjoy seeing that coin.

great stuff,
Devlec, I noticed the "orange" color on some of your coins.
did you have the right white balance when taking these pix? OR is that the coins color?
Auto-white Balance sometimes creates funny looking results. My Canon SW has a setting : correct original expose and WB. it does magic when needed. 1 click and it is like it should be.

I'm using Picasa3 to crop and straighten these coin pics.

The sunlight often bleaches the pic with the 2 sheets of plastic and I play with it to try and show details as best as possible.

I sometimes hit "contrast" to darken the pic and it often changes/darkens the tint ..but just a bit and only on some of them. The colour would be a bit lighter in hand.

..and seeing as Halloween is around the corner...

Enjoy..!!

As I don't have a 1898 to offer..

I will add this 1886 in it's place,..and unfortunately just located in my old pics and without an obverse to add here at this time..

It is interesting in that the 1 and 8 and 6 are repunched from what these pics show..

OF5 RF5 ..Wide date, 1/1, 8/8, Small 6/ Small 6 (RP-2) from the 2010 Charlton p.322
