here are two more. I think it is time to get new pictures taken to see details. these are from way back when a good scanner cost several hundred dollars and mine was not so good.
Using a macro lens now.

viper..Those examples are great and I love the different 7's.

47P7...The 86's are fabulous..

We're probably seeing some 87 examples from pages 328 and 330 of the 2010 Charlton here.

I'm still using a macro to show my coin pics here. I feel that the micro cameras make the small coins very grainy and the colours are wrong,.. so I've gone back to photography and then it's tough to get the coin perfectly in focus.

I love the great toning on some here..

My 87 here.. I see a 1/1 and I think that there's something at the top of the 7..

Would this be an 8 over 8?

The 8 looks similar to your first coin Viper. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

Great thread by the way, very informative! I don't have many 5 cent pieces and had no idea there were so many varieties.

I just love the different varieties that are coming out here. There are a lot that never made it into the 2010 Charlton.

Wouldn't it be great to have a study put out that resembles or is similar to the work done in the 1 cent Vicky series.

Whether it be Jack Griffin or Dr. Haxby or Rob Turner or "Bill In Burl" .. and the many others with expertize in the 1 cent series, It would be nice to have a similar study done on the 5 cent series.

Here is my 1888..and shooting through 2 sheets of plastic makes for a touch of light reflection and Oh..so difficult to show how pristine this 88 is.. I've added a few extra pics to better show the 88 in focus here..

Look at the last 2 pics'''

How would a touch of extra silver stay in the loop of the 8..on my 88 ..?

It's "exactly" where the knob of the 3 should be as in the others showing above mine,...but I'm almost sure that it's not the 8/3..Any opinions on this one?

How would a little ball of silver stay "after" it was struck..?
