What is your opinion of this 1926 5 cent? Real/Fake? Near/Far? Thoughts?

The font of the 2 is strange and the tip of the 6 is pointing to the wrong leaf point. The king's bust is also too mushy, and has a cast look to it. I say fake.

Am I allowed to post a pic from Zoell for comparison?

Yeah.. It looks like a cast copy to me too, the date doesn't look right either.

I'm not the seller. I created this thread as I was interested in bidding on this coin but I had my doubts whether it was a real 1926 Far 6 and wanted to get advice before I put in my bid. As SlurExe97 points out the 2 looks too thick, the 6 points to the wrong leaf vs. other posted pictures of the Far 6 I've looked at, the six looks too low, and the six on the Far 6s I've seen pictures of seem to have a blunt point while this one is more pointy. The pit on the obverse (left shoulder) also may be an air bubble from casting. I'll email the seller and give him/her the link to this thread and say that the coin is a suspected fake.

By the way Welcome to CCF
Sorry aswag I thought you where the seller. I'm a little suspicious of this coin also, maybe an expert in fakes might chime in.

It's a fake, the date is a dead giveaway.
Chinese counterfeits, as a rule, are struck not cast. Often on crappy metal giving them the appearance of being cast.

The seller got back to me and said...

"Thank you for your input. I will most definitely will mention this to the winning bidder and give them the option to cancel the transaction. I have accidentally gotten a few fakes over the years, it's never a good thing."

Seller ended auction early. Generic ebay message... "This listing was ended by the seller because the item was sold"

The seller probably did notify the buyer(s).

Three bids were retracted, the highest being $35.00. The final apparent winner was actually the fourth highest bid, if indeed he did accept the coin. Quite often when an auction closes with no sale, the auction message is "This listing was ended by the seller due to an error in the listing."
