Great coins MV. I like that you've mentioned some interesting facts about some of these coins you chose. I've been away from the computer for a bit so hope to post a few from 1840 before moving on to 1841 today.

This is a coin that is worth a couple hundred dollars but I think the TrueView image does a good job of showing that you don't have to have a super rare, super high grade coin to look awesome. I'm guessing this coin after circulating for a long time found a home in someone's album for quite some time. If only coins could talk. 1840-O 50C Large Mintmark WB-104, VF35 PCGS Cert PageLarge TrueView Image

1840 Res 1/2C Reverse of 1840, PR66+BN Pedigree: Missouri Cabinet Collection PCGS Cert PageLarge TrueView ImageNote about this coin: PCGS doesn't publish the mintage of this proof so perhaps it's unknown. They've also only graded 3 of these coins and this is the finest of that trio.

1840 10C No Drapery, PR64 Pedigree: Eliasberg/Simpson PCGS Cert PageLarge TrueView ImageNote about this coin: First of all, that's one heck of a pedigree. Only 5 of these coins were minted and this is the only one that PCGS has graded. Wow.

1840 H10C No Drapery, MS68 Pedigree: Simpson PCGS Cert PageLarge TrueView ImageNote about this coin: Mr. Simpson sure has some amazing coins. An MS68 coin from 1840, that's pretty amazing. Oh, and it's finest known if that wasn't too obvious. From Ron Guth's comments on CoinFacts - Quote:Close examination of the image shown above of the PCGS MS68 reveals a heavily cracked die which was about to break up into three larege chunks. These breaks are not universal to 1840 No Drapery Half Dimes, but they add interest to this date.
