Likely part of all that "dead money" the late Jim Flaherty kept talking about...

If would have extra $19K kicking around I wouldn't buy it. However, if would have extra $19M kicking around then why not?

Most years, the mint sells 30 or 40 gold kilo coins at $69K each. Clearly, there are uber rich collectors out there.

Would I buy the set if I had that kind of money? Absolutely. But I would also have a garage full of Porsches, Bugattis and a couple of McLarens. And a handful of those gold kilos.

A 50 mill lotto max winner is in my town... he was at a local coin shop buying some gold coins. Same dude had his Cadillac wrapped in gold. I would like to see his collection... he seems to love gold.

I watched a show on tv a few years back, there was an American guy that won one of the super lotto's.
He made a point of trying to spend his interest every day, it was in the neighborhood of $5,000 a day.
POOR guy .... can you imagine how hard that would be.
LOL

The government gets it all back, eventually. A brilliant tax scheme.

Will these Venetian Glass Insect Gold Coin Set ever show up on RCM's website for information purposes?

Or RCM plans not to post on its website at all?

No and yes to your questions Justsilver, because truth be told, these coins don't actually exist. It's all a big scam designed to divert attention away from the way the mint is ruining NCLT collecting.

Talisman has 4 coins (out of 5) on sale:

http://www.talismancoins.com/servle...tail?no=2871

Prices as $13,499.95 (Savings: $3,500.00) , and still available.
As I understand they sell 4 coins but in the 5-coin RCM box.
(Sure, they will have on sale the 5-th gold coin too).

Whoa Silveroid!

Talisman's prices are in US dollars, so the "sale" price of $13,499.95 is really $16,633.35 in Canadian funds! In otherwords CDN $16,633 more than the mint charged.

Also, Talisman notes: "This set will not be available for despatch (sic) until December, per the Mint."

I told you these coins don't really exist...
