I'm 33 and have owned 4 cars and 4 motorcycles so far. $19,000 is more than I've spent on all combined. All but 1 vehical were several years old when I got them. I'd wait to get these coins second hand, (IF EVER) as well.
Anyone that buys this set is crazy. But it might just be me being cheap, or rather hopeless in terms of ever being able to afford these coins.

I'm starting to wonder how I ended up with a rep since I am so clearly not in the same league as others here. My whole collection isn't even worth close to $19K.

@falcon:

I though about the same

I was recently looking at a new Ford F350 full load with a bunch of dealer installed options,
THAT is sticker shock!

i am in the Mopar campus, but have no knowledge in the trucks...
Did you check the full loaded RAM? I assume that it will not be worse than f350.

I am so happy to hear from you guys that this set will cost over $18,000. It is so out of my league and saves me the time to even think about buying it.

And if the Mint just recycle the glass creature idea on gold coins then they are being lazy. At least try putting some real rocks (diamonds and gems) on the coin, like those Rwanda Lunar Series with Gems.

Hi Silveroid,
Yes I've looked at the Ram 3500 as well.
Since 2000 I've had 3 new trucks.
The first and last one were Dodges and the one in between was a Ford.
The 2008 Dodge I'm driving now has 320,000Km on it :-)
I paid $70,000 and the dealer offered me $5,000 last year. :-(
LOL
It's the cost of doing business I guess.
I don't NEED a $100,000 truck BUT ! :-)
OK
Back on topic ;-)
Gold bugs and the money you could spend somewhere else.

What, no platinum?

Man, I'd settle for a nice copper Venetian glass set. This kind of price makes me want to go sort a few rolls of pennies, and be thankful for what I've got; not chase what I can't afford...

That sucks, man.

But back to the topic:
With all the hobby that I enjoy, I'll probably will put the part of these money (cause I do not have this amount) into the current Charger mods rather then spend on coins.
And both of them : mods and coins will be worthless with the years.

The coins are .9999 so if you like the set, call your rep quickly tomorrow, but like I said, doubt these coins will hold value.

I guess the Mint is going after you guys (the one's that received these early notices) since you guys are the big money spender's of the Mint. They did not even bother to ask the regular MC's about this offer.

John, you doubt they will hold their value?

Oh ye of little faith...

Why, when the price of gold quadruples in a couple of hundred years, will you be sorry you didn't snag a set or two.

That is only $0.20 per kilometer; not a bad deal really.

Except my truck uses 30 liters per 100 km of diesel.
At $1.50/liter that adds $0.45 / km
Add to that oil, tires, insurance and maintenance
:-(

Confirmed (on the other forum) by trustful dealer from Germany : no Sovereigns, no re-mints, but the Gold coins with the Glass creatures.
Mintage of 100.

Assuming, that it will be officially announced at noon EST - it very close! (do not go to lunch, you might miss it )
