It's probably not 24k gold... Maybe 14k like the Superman Gold coin?

It has to be something worthy of a special release but I doubt however that every MC member got that email.

Having checked my inbox numerous times, I was hoping to have received something by now. Nada, zilch, nichs!

Poster or advertisement looks more like a Telus Calendar.

$19.000 for the set.....this is so high

But I feel, that we might will be the evidence of the "group buy", when the collectors will pay together, in order to buy this truly RCM's art-work (this is my speculation, but I don't believe that something not worthy will cost so much).

How the collectors will share this set? Well, they have to find the way.
Rest in Peace

I got the emails, but if the info here is correct, for $19,000 I'll be buying a car before this kind of 'collecting'. (keep in mind that if these are anything but 'fine 24 kt gold' there will be additional sales tax too!)

@Dcadon: You're right, I didn't think of that. But hey, what is $2,500-$3,000 more? LOL

But, honestly, I really don't know if these are 14kt or not; it's pure speculation on my part.

Basically, that's correct.
But think, assuming you do have the $19.000 + Tax to spread - will you buy the car (if you have such money to waste, probably you do have a car, and $20K additional vehicle will not be best purchase) or that stuff?

I emailed my rep and he tells me that he cannot divulge any information other than it's a huge deal that has them excited and sounds like it has been in the works for the last 3-4 years.

He also tells me that it will be a gold 5 coin set and the limited mintage of 100 will make it very appealing.

We were warned back when the 1912-1914 $5 and $10 hoard was released that the Mint might try something like this again.

Could it be a set of gold Canadian Sovereigns? There's at least five of them if you exclude the 1913 and 1916.

Either way, whatever it is, I'm out. Too rich for my blood!

I write to my rep because I'm not here tomorrow. She only tell me on the phone that it's a set that will cost 18 000$... I said, Ok, I pass on this :)

Hi all!

I got the email too!

I'm tempted to make some comments, but unfortunately they would all be very sarcastic, so I will keep them to myself.

However, I will say with 100% certainty that I will not be buying this set of so-called "coins".

Yeah, yeah I know I'm being a little bit sarcastic. I just can't help myself...

No, it won't be set of gold Sovereigns because the email shows four venetian glass bugs.

Undoubtedly they are excited because of the commission they will get from selling the coins.

I received an email from my rep this morning and it doesn't say what this is yet? It is pretty much the same hype email as last week. No details whatsoever. Anyone else get a useless repeat email?

hey at least you guys all get e-mails! even some of you even REPS! I've been MC for over 2 years now, and I still can't even get the e-mails... even less a rep that I could talk to! this MC club is such ... other than free shipping (which they offer on numerous coins now even if you are not MC) I did not get a single thing extra. not even pre-sale notice. this is soooooooo frustrating! I feel like I'm missing out on all the good stuff... :(

The whole time I'm reading this I keep thinking about Dcadon's $19,000 car.
Lol
The last few times I bought a new car they were worth several times that!
I was recently looking at a new Ford F350 full load with a bunch of dealer installed options,
THAT is sticker shock!
Almost a hundred grand after tax, freight and PDI plus interest on the loan .... unless you have a 100 G's in the bank.
:-(
I walked..... no I ran away from that deal
Lol
But it makes the gold bugs sound cheap, especially when you look at the resale value of a 5 year old F350.

Its amazing what people will spend on a hobby.
Most guys like myself who are into racing will easily spend 20 grand a year on the game.
A friend of mine is an avid fisher he loves traveling around to fish and he can easily spend the same 20 grand .
I guess its all about what makes you happy.

I won't be buying them, but it does put it in to perspective.
:-)
