My latest. 1943D-1MM-004 Pretty nice looking coin except under the microscope I can see some spots; does not look like rust (look at the to the left of the mintmark picture). I have never used acetone or verdicare on a steel cent before. Anyone have experience with either on steel or should I just leave it alone?

I would leave it alone. The example on coppercoins shows a lot of die cracks on it.

The location looks correct, but I would like to see a closeup with the date and mint mark so I could do an overlay. If it is an earlier die state, coppercoins might like to see your coin.

Here you go Coop. This one does not have the cracks as shown at coppercoins. I say I want to see a very slight one from the L in Pluribus to the O in one, but I'm not sure. I'm anxious to see your overlay to confirm.

It is a dead on overlay for 1943D-1MM-004. Nice find.

You're well on your way. But it does get tougher. You're farther along than I am on the top 100...

mcanniz, I get $25 boxes from the bank. I have also picked up a few hundred dollars from friends, etc, that have been dumped in jars, etc. I have over $1000 rolled copper that haven't been searched. I used to just pull copper before I got into errors.
