@barryg - well done with the pictures. I think I can see more with the pictures you took than I can with my coins in hand.

barryg: Great pics! Are you sure that isn't a fiber or string on the coin itself, under the capsule? I have had fibers trapped in capsules before. It sure doesn't look like a scratch. It does look like a crack though. I'd be interested in hearing what it turns out to be.

Does anyone else get a cheezy "Whitman folder" feel of this packaging? Not being able to see the backs of the coins in the display just adds to that feel. They could have put holes in the board to give view to the reverse of the coins without having to pry on the display and take them out.

Oh, I definitely can see more with the pictures. I'm frequently appalled at all the flaws I discover only after photographing my coins...

Well, seeing as how I removed the coin from the capsule before photographing it, it probably isn't a fiber under the capsule...

My Sets arrived today!

I wish the Enhanced Uncirculated "S" coins were more like the 2013-W Enhanced A.S.E.'s, but the Reverse Proofs more than make up for this.

Barry- Those are YOUR pix? Amazing. I thought they were official mint pictures. Extremely well done.

Got my set today and will be sending back tomorrow. There is foreign matter on the proof as well as two scratches.....not my definition of a proof coin. What a disappointment. I will ask for a replacement as opposed to a refund as that is an option on the enclosed sheet but if they are sold out by the time they get them back I won't be crushed. Where is the quality control?

While I am still fairly new at this, I am surprised at all of the QC issues people are experiencing. Has the mint's quality control historically been this poor?

@jhp - This has been fairly common as of late (and historically) with mint products. Some people are thrilled with their sets while some are outraged about dust particles. I don't begrudge those folks that demand perfection and scratches are definitely unacceptable on a proof coin. While I may be less of a stickler for product perfection, all 3 of my sets are gorgeous, like the coins that barry photographed above. I think with a massive operation that's putting together 300k sets as fast as possible, you're going to have some quality issues, unfortunately.

With the potential die crack you mention in another thread, I think you have a legitimate beef (though again, I'd keep the die crack and order another set if I wanted a blemish-free one).

One of my sets was great. The other set was quite the opposite.
First there were little green chunks under the capsule then on the proof there was this crusty junk.
