I know the 82's were typically minted with wide device's but I'd like opinion on this one...I've been puzzling over whether it might be a class 6 double. Credit to coppercoins.com for side by side comparisons, used here only for the educational purposes.

The large date design looked like your coin. The doubled dies are slightly wider/taller from the hubbing. Yours looks normal from what I can see.

The ear looks like it is machine damaged. Flat shelf like.
