Serial Number CD00000391* $10 bill 2001 Series color a bit faded from circulation, a couple of fold lines, but in generally good condition.
Not too bad for a novice bill collector!!!
That is a nice serial number to find! I once found a bill (don't remember what denomination) with a serial number in the 200's. I had set it aside in my cash drawer intending to buy it, but my boss used my drawer while I was at lunch and accidently gave it out! AARGH! Rachel [:p]

I posted that I had never had any luck finding neat seriel numbers. Not exactly true. I did once find a "RADAR" note, and have it put away somewhere.

Wow! You know, I remember my parents and grandparents talking about the prices of various items "back in the good ol' days". Heck, I can remember back in the late 80s and early 90s (pre-Gulf War times) when gas was a mere $0.65-$0.80/gallon. It's rediculous how much they have gone up in the past 10-15 years ALONE!!! But what gets me even more is when I hear people that only 20-30 years my senior speaking of walking around with a pocket of Walking Liberty halves, Peace dollars, and good ol' Franklin halves. Most of them give me the same reaction when I tell them that most of those coins are worth at least double their face value...."Really?! Geez, I wish I would've kept them in my pocket now!" (LOL, ahhhh, gotta love the youth of society...so willing to not think ahead.) If only we all knew THEN what we know NOW! And thanks for the heads up on that note....we were thinking about stickin' it on ebay....but I think that one will go into the personal collection now!!!! Thanks all!

FYI, I noticed your post at the top of this page. When the West Virginia Quarters came out, my wife and I went to the local Bank of America and were able to discover a progression of die cracks on the obverse of the coins. It is a strange feeling sitting there looking at the coins like that. Makes one feel as though they can watch the coins being struck as the crack developed. I've got those stashed away in a wooden box...hopefully, when we get custody of my daughter, I'll be able to pass them on to her and teach her the importance of collecting.

This was found in circulation, but not by me unfortunately. At a convenience store tonight, the clerk showed me the 1936 P Buffalo she pulled from the register. Looking at it under a magnifying glass, I would say it is probably VF. The clerk collects coins, so I didn't bother to ask if she wanted to sell it to me.

I received a 1962 Roosevelt in my change from the gas station yesterday. Nothing special, but always a kick to get silver.

I found a 1929-S in my usual handful of wheat cents this week, plus a "Health" 2000 quarter from Canada. I have a bunch of different quarters in this series, but this is the first "Health" one I've found.

My wife received a 1941S quarter in change the other day. She found a 1964D quarter a few months ago too. She seems to have much better luck with change than I do but she doesn't collect so I have to find them for her.

1982 D Jefferson nickel. Value: Probably five cents. The point is, it's BU. Looks straight from the mint. Makes you wonder how a coin can be 24 years old, and basically untouched!
