Lots of nice L coins posted! I have a few, most of which someone has already posted a nice example of, but here's one you don't see too often. Larrisa Kremaste, Thessaly, Trichalkon (3rd century BC), 16mm, 5.7g Obv: Bare head of Achilles left. Rev: Thetis riding left on hippocamp, holding shield bearing the monogram of Achilles.

Quote: Medieval your killing me with those in flip photos. Sorry about that 'Ancientnoob', don't like the extra glare produced when scanning myself, but rather leave them in if they don't need (re-) cleaning. Those which are not 'settled' yet (or others when I 'resettle') I make scans before I do.

Menander I. I particularly like how different the shape of this coin is compared to anything else in my collection. Menander started off as a Bactrian king and then went a-conquering and started an empire in the Indian sub-continent. He either was a patron of Buddhism or a Buddhist himself (a Buddhist Greek king in India. History is a strange place) and was a very successful king in longevity and area conquered. Indo-Greek Bronze 4-Cholkoi of Menander I Soter Indo-Greek Bronze 4-Cholkoi of Menander I Soter minted between 155-130 BC. Obverse: BASILEWS SWTHROS MENANDROS, helmeted and draped bust right; Reverse: Kharosthi legend: Maharajasa Tratarasa Menandrasa (Great King Savior Menander), Nike advancing right, wreath in extended right, palm frond over shoulder in left, monogram lower right Attribution: Bopearachchi Série 32C; Mitchiner IGIS Type 244b; Mitchiner ACW 1821; SNG ANS 945 ff; SNG Cop 306 var (monogram)
