Again, a 16th century coin from me... Archbishopric of Salzburg Matthäus Lang von Wellenburg (1519-1540) Silver pfennig, 1521, uniface "Obverse": joined arms of Salzburg left and Matthäus right, date above, letter M (for Matthäus) below Other side is basically a faint mirror image of the obverse; I decided not to make a photo of it back when I was photographing this coin originally, but there's not much to see on it anyway. No idea how to call the shape of this coin, by the way; it's kind of curved-squarey.

Nice Marcian! Still searching for one of his coins myself, but they're even rarer than Leo's, apparently.

One more M before it moves on. I had to clean this coin to the bone to get the dark lacquer or paint off of it. I showed it way back then. It's now starting to tone up nicely by letting it sit on a shelf and putting out in the rain once in a while. Aiolis, Myrina AE 17 2nd c. BC Obvs: Head of Athena right, wearing helmet ornamented w/ griffin. Revs: MY PI, Amphora between 17mm, 3.8g BMC 17.137.20
