Very nice selection of Parthian coins 'Bob L'. Glad I beat you with my puny coin, else I would have been ashamed to post it.

'pishpash', read your description - here some more information for your comfort: Sear[ME] has all of Volusian's Antoniniani as Silver, your coin is Sear[ME]#9763 and is stated as 'Rome, AD253'.

Medieval, thanks for that information. So you think it is silver rather than billon?

Quote: Medieval, thanks for that information. So you think it is silver rather than billon? It definitely has silver in it. Seemingly enough silver content in the Antoniniani of Volusian to be classified as silver by Sear. The line between silver and billon is somewhat 'liquid' as you know. So you might as well call it Silver Antoninianus or if you don't fell comfortable with it, just state Antoninianus.

'pishpash' you rushed your change and made it a Denarius. Or is it stated in RIC as Denarius?
