Hi all,
I went to pick up a coin today and while I was there the seller must have noticed me flicking through some random items, I was only killing time waiting to be served.
Much to my surprise he went over to the box I was looking through grabbed a handful without looking and then GAVE them to me as a TY for being a good customer.
This is what I got for free,
1900,1901,1902 indian head 1 cents
1859 Canada 1 cent
1803 East India Company V cash
1835 East India Company 1/4 anna
1867 Italy 10 centesimi
1855 France 5 centimes
His prices on them came to £18.

Fed, thx for the heads up concerning the Canada coin.
It looks as if I have possibly the most boring version of this coin from what I can see, of all the errors etc listed my coin appears to be a very early strike as there are none of the features that you would hope for.
Narrow 9 early type & even date variety are the only features that I could find. Maybe these are now considered rare because of the lack of issues still a useful trade token for the future.
Yes Debrajc it is nice to be appreciated, then again I have spent a small fortune dealing with him over the years.
Still a nice gesture, I might look through some more expensive coins next time

I get big discounts like that a lot too for being patient haha. I got like 18 early lincoln cents and a poor shield nickles for the list price of one of the cents. Said it was for making him look busy when the other resellers were buying items for him to put up for auction.

Just the 3 Indian Head cents left, no point doing pics of them cus you have seen plenty already I reckon.
Please take a close look at the quarter Anna and tell me what the lions are wearing between their hind legs, I don't think I have ever seen 1 yet alone 2 penis's on a coin !

Might have to get myself one of those Buffalo nickels.
I did another check on the coin and there is a third todger as the little lion on top of the shield has his tackle on display.
This a cool coin to look at in my opinion, so much detail on the lions face and body.
Time to go find what a Buffalo nickel looks like.

I believe also that the Cooks Island features a nude fertility God on their coins as well. I mean if you wasn't to make, um, a themed set or something...

I always thought they left out certain anatomical features when designing coins, I was rather surprised to see that the lions were so well depicted.
I did a little research and found that it is called a Type 3 variety which seems quite fitting to me.
NO I'm not interested in collecting todgers Harmonica, this certain coin is different though for that aspect alone.
I do like it

Well,
Those free coins were like a breath of fresh air, now I cant stop buying more.
I went back today and bought the rest of the little box I was looking through.
This is what I got,
IOM 1986 £1 proof/gilt
India 1910 1/12 annas
India 1911 2 Annas silver pig variety
Italy 1940 50c
Pakistan 1948 1 Rupee
Canada 1945 V nickel proof or MS
Sarawak 1885 1 cent
Romania 1883 5 Bani
Forgot this, Jersey 1945 1/12 of a shilling liberation coin
Oman 1/4 Anna not sure of date.
I have posted the India 1911 2 Annas as it seems I have found quite a rare coin, worse examples have realised some nice prices.
I will be going back to get some more tomorrow.
