There is a reason why I said it's more possibly a counterfeit.
The strokes actually look too sharp compared to examples known. I have to double check if there is such a variety for this particular coin - book is nowhere near handy. Kirin 20 cash are not very common and therefore there is higher premium for them which unfortunately means counterfeits will counterfeit them as well. Unless you are well versed in Chinese coinage, proceed with absolute care.
Here's a good example that I have from East Hopei.

And this is a coin that a seller was proud enough to claim that it was a copy made back in 1990s. Sure enough if you didn't look carefully, this will fool you. It did fool me and I decided to get it to check out how good the level of detail is.

Until I held this coin in hand, I didn't think counterfeits were getting to this stage. Matched weight of genuine coins and most details are right. This was a coin that was worth about 20 dollars back then.
