People on other forum found good example of situation, when ex-appreciated coin sells for 30% of its "market" value.

Cause, it not in the people interest this period. A lot of new stuff issued.

I believe, people should forget the long time investment here and concentrate on the value of personal appeal.

It might be doesn't look as "sale" right now...
Seems to be, world mints felt the power of low mintage. Forget about 20.000 , 10.000 even 5.000 - navigate to the "The Coin Shoppe" website and see, that the world most innovative coin, with the mintage of 699 they sell for CAD 164.99

*WORLD PREMIERE - Considered one of the most innovative coins of the World Money Fair 2015 in Berlin*

Looks like real sale, specially if you will compare with "Hunger Games / Burning " Maple Leaf asking price.

Maybe the World Mints have figured out that high mintages don't sell out and that there is not that many coin collectors out there willing to shell out money for coins that drop in value 2 months after release.
Too bad the RCM has yet to learn this lesson.

This is correct, but when they will start to pump plenty of low mintage coins, different, many, huge variety - the people will stop buying.
Anyway, currently it good.

Dream on, unless they have discounts of 50% or more you wont find much there.

Better to look to the south and get coins like peidforts for $45us =$56 ca when issue price was $100 ca

The problem at the south, that majority of their discounted coins, anyway you didn't want to buy...except of the case if you want to load some deers, Impressions , Piedforts...

The CA basically the same idea: we for sure will see HR Monarchs, graded O Canada and some more rotating stuff.
But sometimes, they have something fresh, or in opposite - old but discounted.

That big quarter is damaged. Hence the scratch and dent discount.

This one is either a listing/picture error or someone got a smoking deal. That coin generally sells for over $200.

What about this? It looks like a gold sovereign for $40. Funny that someone just bought only one of them instead of buying all of they had for sale. lol
