@Silveroid

thank you my friend. I have learned/worked hard to be very patient and it has paid me very well in life to be extremely patient, to sit and wait and observe.

I started observing this pattern of falling prices in RCM coins when remember that Berlin privy maple leaf I asked about. I paid full price... and by accident by shopping on ebay, I noticed it had dropped like 30% from where I bought... then I went back and looked at other coins from other mints that I had bought and I was like whoa...

after a while I said.. I am going to start tracking prices and compare their movement with spot prices. Sure enough, all coins get hit, to a varying degree. The strong in demand coins from the various mints, where the prices have moved higher from its initial release price, sometimes see 5-10% moves roughly... but demand keeps prices stable and high,, the over supply coins that are not wanted, with the dip in PM spot prices, those get hit very very hard.

which brings me to Northern's comment. Yea I think like those Bison coins, the Piedfort, the public for the most part did not buy into the "exclusive" issue especially as PM prices dropped hard.

I think, and I could be wrong but I do think mints will have to start pricing more inline with PM prices to help dealers out.

Superman gold is "missing COA" Thus the discount.

Many of the CA Unique items are described with words such as toning, scuffed, tattered , and scratched.

No thanks, pass.

With so many fake Superman coins out there I would be hesitant to buy this coin even if it is at a discount since it has no COA. How could anyone lose a COA? .

yeah, right

+"missing"

The catching eye items were:

1914 $10 Premium Hand-Selected Gold Coins - CAD 1149 - small scratch on the back side of the capsule

2014 50-cent Pure Gold Coin - Canada's Classic Beaver - CAD 103.95 - no issue mentioned

2008 Royal Canadian Mint 100th Anniversary Coin & Stamp Set - CAD 29.50 - the outer sleeve is lightly scuffed (for this price it no doubt sold out)

And those Australian proof sets priced CAD 450 - 550 !
When our sets will be appreciated like this....?

The certs in the 2013 coin were loose and easily slipped out if the case was stored on its side. We had a few boxes arrive from the RCM with a few certs lying in the bottom of the shipping box. Easily rectified but still it happens.

You are 100% correct. Unfortunately a lot of collectors are in denial.

They still think their NCLT coins will appreciate in value.
Take the example of the Moon Mask Set. 5 months after release it is still not sold out at the RCM. You could find those sets on ebay for around $300 (issue price $360).

This one of my 2015 and RCM favorites.
I did assume that it will be sold out, and likes it much.
Well....the side of collecting, where you buying, knowing about immediate loss (like new car, but it at least you will use).

So, not everything is bad. Collecting is a fun and learning. And spending money without return.

Just picked this up: 2014 50-cent Pure Gold Coin - Canada's Classic Beaver - CAD 103.95

It will fit nicely into my growing set of 50 cent gold coins.

Congrats for very nice coin!

By the way, CA recently has removed on the website the "internal product search" and replaced it with the "custom google search" - it looks like the search goes via Google and returns not the items, but the URLs for the items:

Flash-Sale-And-One-Day-Sales

So, the search removal, RCM Summer sale...do they want to say something?
