I went ahead and got the Korean Armistice silver dollar, only coin that peaked my interest. I wish they had better coins for sale.

One of the best recent SDs, imo.

(my amateur pictures doesn't provide the best look and different frosting finishes)

The Coin Shoppe has the 2$ and the 10 cents for 520$ each today. Prices are going lower even for these...

CP has removed the 60-75% category. Guess they are all gone....or maybe they are reloading more coins.

I guess no reload though the 2012 25 cent Coast Guard coin came back up for a short time. Now there is just nothing listed under 60-75%.

I stopped by the large coin PO in town. Tons of coins but no Cyber sale in-store. lol

The Canada Post sale was a big joke. The only deal was the Prince Harry coin at 75% off. The rest of the coins reflected current market value since practically all of the coins could be had for 40-50% off elsewhere. For example, the Group of Seven coins, O'Canada coins, and Bathygnathus Coin could be found for substantial discounts everywhere. These coins have been sitting in Canada Post's inventory for years and I am sure Canada Post is glad to get rid of them. Actually, besides the 60-75% coins, most of the coins remain in inventory. No one wants them even at 50% off.

There were some other bargains. The gift sets for 5 bucks (that's $3.40 in uncirculated currency) and the test tokens for $12 ($9 in currency) were worth buying. The lucky loonie was also well below market price as were a few of the silver dollars.

That said, for the most part you are correct. Many of the coins were unwanted stock at roughly market price. Honestly, based on what I see at my local PO, I was a little surprised that they were not clearing out 2015 coins. Their carrying costs must be prohibitive.

I find it interesting that some of the dealers, like C/A and Gatewest don't seem to be offering big discounts and in the case of C/A, don't seem to be carrying a lot of 2015 inventory. They have 2-3 of each coin but not 20-30 like they used to in previous years. I doubt they are selling more now, so I have to figure they are actually ordering less from the Mint. Wonder how that will work our long term for them....and the Mint. I suspect the end is coming for the Mint's cash cow.

Dear Yingyang, have you spent more than CAD 400 only on these no-one wanted coins?
Unlike birthday/wedding sets (that was amazing find), these will go nowhere, imo

But make your own calculations...you right about SML, but advantage of these is only mintage and packaging.
SML contains more metal though.....
