Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone can help with this coin, I have searched various sites and have not been able to find a great deal about it.
There are re strikes apparently but I don't know how I would tell if this is one or not.
The value is all over the place from what I have seen but it did have a high rarity rating.

The condition is very good apart from some dirt/grime.
TIA.

Hi there
George V British India Silver 2 Annas 1911
I have the same coin as yours & can tell you that's a 0.9170 silver coin , with 1,46 gr weight , issued in 1911 , the other side shows British King Georges V with an elephant on the Kings robe that was considered to resemble a pig, thus the variety is known as the "pig rupee 2 Ann"
apparently your coin seems genuine , check its weight and if it is not magnetized ; if all is correct , surely yours is genuine!

Hello Moroccan Friend,
Yes its the " pig " variety which apparently makes it quite collectable from what I have seen.
I didn't post a pic of the obverse because the battery's died in my camera ( old world problem ) I will pop it out its holder in the morning to make sure it is genuine but I don't have any worries about that.
It does look like a pig though.
Do you have any thoughts on its current value ?
I don't want to sell it, maybe willing to use it as a trade object.

I can only find 2 for sale right now and both are slabbed, there is an AU 58 FOR £980ish and an MS62 for around £1100.
Looks like I did ok.
