My questions are: Is the coin genuine? Is the stamp genuine? Why? Background needs to be provided. This coin and stamp combination was also seen on ebay while I was a member of the Committee that voted on questions of authenticity. I just notice some strange spots on the coin surface (bubbles ? die rust ?) - again, on one side only. An odd color / patina as well ? Pandesalapi Valued Member Philippines 386 Posts	Posted 12/14/2014 08:05 am The counterstamp is fake. All 5-2-2 variety are still in question untl todate. The only variation for columbia c/s is a 5-4-3 dot variation... you will notice that the coin was minted in 1835, so it is impossible to have it counterstamped an an earlier date - assuming if and when a 5-2-2 dot variation is in existence at that time.
