Could be RPD. Take some more pictures rotating the coin compared to the light...

Can't be a RPD, they haven't punched dates into the dies since about 1907. And if they don't punch them in they can't re-punch them.

Looks like a worn die, aka Die Deterioration.

Well, Conder101, there are lots of post 1907 varieties termed RPD by the collecting community, so whether you want to call it that on technicalities or not, that's how many people call it. Oh - are you on a crusade to fix the collecting world? That's cool - what should we call it then? I'll go with you if it makes sense! : )

That's a MUCH better picture Marcools! From that angle it definitely looks like a form of doubling.

The 2nd picture is great. Can see some kind of shadow effect on the 19 & D (I assume the 2 does as well?). Interesting specimen! coop is the local error/variety guru & will most likely be along in a bit.

It is not doubling. It is Die Deterioration. You can tell where the die shifted to the left. Coop has a great demonstration of this.

There is also split plating on the SE corner of the mint mark. And everyone else nailed the area by the date as Die Deterioration.

After many coins being judged by coop as Die Deterioration I now know that's what this is. Thanks coop!

No premium for Die Deterioration Doubling. But if you like it, keep it as an educational piece.
