It is inappropriate for the OP to continue to promo his item in this thread.

IMHO, I don't see a problem. The OP is obviously excited about this major find, and many forum members want to vicariously share the joy. It's encouraging and fuels our collector spirit. Also, I've seen a number of precedents here on the CCF. I'd like to see a happy ending to this thread ...

Just read the whole thread, amazing story. 11 hours to go and 20 people tracking, you have to assume several plan on bidding near the end, don't you?

Believe me guys, if I wanted to "promote" the auction I could have done it very easily through my YouTube channel. I'm just sharing the experience here and was initially looking for info on where to proceed. Thanks you to everyone who contributed information leading up to this point!

Most, if not all of us, are glad you brought your metal detector find here to the forum. You received a ton of good advice and the whole scenario from "the metal detector find of the rear", to the slabbing, to the auction has played out here on this thread.
I do not feel for one minute that you coin was overly promoted. It is what it is and if what promotion on this thread resulted in you getting more watchers and bidders then so be it. Most of us on these boards are not wealthy and would not be able to afford plinking down that kind of money, anyway. We can only dream about it.
It will all be over with in a few hours. It was fun, entertaining and educational. The way it is supposed to be. Enjoy the moment ----- especially the last few minutes of the auction!

I was the first one to reply to the OP's original post and I got it right. All the best. I am not a bidder, but I will think this will go for at least $8k. But who knows? I collect the Barber halves, and have not branched out to the other series for now.

Oh good, Hate to Wait, I thought I was alone. It's been a long trip from Boise to "BOUGHT!" 30 minutes and counting ...
