Punman, I know how to make that giant $2 coin into a nice clipped error coin...

Punman- That is an awesome over sized $2 coin!
I didn't get any coins from anyone for Christmas. If I wan't coins I have to just buy them myself. I don't have anyone that is interested in them around me, and my family doesn't seem to know what to get whenever I bring them up.
I hope some of you received some nice pieces!

I was fortunate to receive the 2012 silver proof set. Just a few more sets and I will have all silver proof sets from 1992- present.

Yeah - that's what is preventing me from sending it in to ICCS for grading!! By the way - do you thing that big coin might have been "dipped"?

For Christmas, my wife gave me the go-ahead to spend some of our money and purchase this little gem I've had my eye on for awhile: 1903 50c PCGS Proof 63 - Looks Higher Grade - Barber Half DollarThe last time I looked at it, the price was $1250, which I felt was full retail. At $1065, it may not be a "steal," but it's certainly more reasonable. [My wife bought herself a nice ring, btw...]

I didn't think I was getting any coins this year... My wife went another route. But my mother quite surprised me, she's getting a better eye for sure! She picked up- • A box of mixed world coins (including US) • A bag of around 4-500 wheats. • 1972 proof set • 2014 W ASE (Proof) • 1927 Peace dollar. She got the first three at an estate sale, the ASE at a coin shop and got to pick the Peace dollar from this older couple she helps out with the garden in the summer (summer house).. She's definitely been taken for a ride buying sliders and cleaned coins in the past, but her eye is definitely getting better! Though she didn't buy this one she picked great! Geez, I'd love to see what else they have! She knows I like toning as well and because she has no ideas about what dates are common/rare she went for the best condition with any non dark toning, lol. I'm going to give it an acetone bath as it looks like it's been in the flip it was in for a while... Hard to see in the photos but the upper right is a golden crescent, not "super" toning, but I don't find many Peaces tones at all so I'll take it! And I can't catch the full luster with my phone... This is now my favorite Peace dollar me thinks...

I got an 1858 O seated half in a cleaned EF-45 / AU-50 condition that we later identified as the scarce WB-105 variety. I got a Mongol-cast Da Yuan Tong Bao. A scarce issue, and it is LARGE (a bit larger than an Ike dollar). I got a 1990 edition of Penny Whimsy by William Sheldon to help my study of large cents. I got money to spend on other coins, but it will likely go to a new euphonium I am looking to purchase.

I got no coins for Christmas, but I did get the newest Red Book to replace my one from 2010. I like all the updated info, but there are still some things that don't make sense to me; like the 2012-S silver Kennedy half STILL being priced at $13.00. ?

I didn't get any actual coins. I told my family not to buy them for me, because none of them are collectors, and I'm afraid they'd buy from Littleton or some infomercial or something; however, I did get this really big and heavy magnifying glass, and these magazines and book. It's a very cool magnifying glass. I needed one like it.

I didn't get any coins for Christmas except from the secret Santa but I did get a nice LED table lamp, a 10x loupe and a 5 x loupe with a light to help me examine my coins. My girlfriend doesn't know a thing about coins and refuses to buy me any. I don't blame her though as I would hate for her to overspend on something so I just asked for some things to help me with my collection. Also received some shirts, a new pair of shoes, and some pajama pants.
