Really SaintRidley? I voted Buffalo because I love the design. It is such a great example of romanticized America! As a non American I feel that the buffalo is more American then the Morgan dollars you guys all seem to look at as the king coin.

As an American, I have to agree with you. The bison/Native American design is a great numismatic memorial to the early American west. (and Canadian for that matter). But there is still a lot of American west romanticism attached to the Morgans as well. Many of them were made from the very silver that created the rushes of people going west. But I think the main reason they are considered "king" (or should it be queen?) is because many -including myself- consider them to be amongst the most beautiful coins ever minted.

Morgans aren't really my thing either. The Buffalo's highly, uniquely American coin, no doubt. I just don't find it aesthetically pleasing. AI'm much more a fan of the Peace dollar (and I would have loved if it had retained the broken sword) and the SLQ quarter as the most beautiful designs ever put on a coin that will be in my normal budgetary range.

There are several keys and tougher dates in the IHC series. 1877, 09-S, 1872, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 08-S. These will set you back some money even in low grades. Not sure what your budget is but Buffs would definitely be more economical.

I voted for the cents just because I'm a cent collector. The buffaloes are a better design I feel. The cent collection does have some expensive keys but are a great series.

I voted for Indianheads, just a personal preference. There's some tough dates to acquire but to me, that just makes it more fun, just save up and take your time.

Well, I'm actually working on both of those series right now, and obviously the IHC series is going to be more expensive for two reasons: (1) the length of the series and (2) the keys and semi-keys, particularly in the 1870s coin shortage and the 1908 and 1909 S MMs. The Buffalo series is shorter and if you leave out errors and overstrikes has no real "stoppers".
