Hi there, I was wondering whether anyone can confirm that the two coins below are a Henry II halfpenny and a John Penny? Many thanks if someone can help.

There is a good chance you are right, but would need to read (at least part of) the inscription on the obverse.
Please make clearer/larger and separate pictures - no need to waste space for background.

Better reverse pictures would be needed to attribute the coins to specific mints.
Yes, it looks the Penny is type 5a for John.

Can't find a match for the obverse of the cut Penny for Henry II, looks rather like one of the later re-issues.
Also can't find a match to the reverse with the for dotted crosses.
Would need a more detailed catalogue (than I have) of the coinage of that time to properly attribute the coin.

The John penny reads WALTER ON LV, for Walter of London.

As for the cut half, the last three letters in the remaining legend are ON D (with a backwards N). This narrows the mint down drastically; I suspect the only option is Durham. The moneyers name ends in M; the available options are ADAM, a Durham moneyer of Henry II, or perhaps a WILLEM, a moneyer of later monarchs.
