bhawk1972 New Member United States 3 Posts	Posted 01/07/2015 9:08 pm Hello, I am new and this is my first post. I have been reading your forums for a little while. I dont really know what a doubled die really looks like.... I do know what it doesn't look like. The L in Liberty and the "o" in GOD. I know in most cases like this it is machined or multiple struck. Also the digital microscopes play tricks. I primarly deal in cents, but I found this in my chage today. I also have a 2014 cent that appears to have quite a bit of doubling. Adam_E Pillar of the Community United States 4846 Posts	Posted 01/07/2015 9:35 pm A quick explanation of Machine Doubling would be when the coin is struck, the dies rotate slightly, giving an appearance of doubling, when in reality the upper half of the letters/design are shifted. This is why you see a flat, shelf-like appearance instead of rounded edges, and it also explains why you dont generally see any extra thickness to the devices. The coin bhawk has looks like a very strong case of Machine Doubling, but I would wait for an expert to confirm that Report this Post to the Staff
