They may have posted that, but listings most definitely are being removed now. Unfortunately not abon's though.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------- And, it is entirely appropriate that PCI and SEGS are excluded -- they consistently overgrade by an average of 2 points, and holder problems coins and AT coins all the time. The days of high volume ebay crapseters flooding the listings with PCI gold slabs and trends values are behind us, and thankfully so. Instead of suing ebay, PCI and SEGS should tighten their standards and grade properly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think you are all wrong. If a grading company cannot consistantly grade the same coin as the same grade (meaning resubmittals then none of them should be allowed. When PCGS grades a million dollar+ 1804 Bust dollar as XF then AU then MS whatever, they are frauds just like any other slabbing company and for the ANA and ebay to say that my SEGS and PCI coins are not legitimate is not right! I will list them if I ever decide to sell and if they pull them they won't get paid. I may not be able to grade something online through a low rez picture but every coin that I have bought in a SEGS or PCI slab have been extremely close one way or another. MY 09svdb is in a SEGS holder. I have owned several of these coins and know how to authenticate them. I don't belong to the ANA and now I never will. Who made them God? ***Edited by Forum Dad to remove unfamilyfriendliness***

I apologize. I am VERY angry about this issue and to see you all joy in it makes it worse.

I only have 2 things to say Rigoletto..... and.... Sorry Rigoletto, but I say good riddance, and I won't miss a minutes sleep over it. It'll be nice to sell some coins without being surrounded by so much garbage.

Yes Bobby. I agree but if you read my prior post you would see I am only angred about PCI and SEGS, not those others. I want to send you some pics of PCGS coins that prove they are not accurate in their grading either, as someone stated SEGS was always 2 grades off, which I totally disagree with as I have purchased undergraded SEGS coins. Please send me an email address where I can email you these pics and have you post them for me.
Thanks

Look in the right hand side bar for the tutorials heading ,, there is one for posting photo's on the forum ,, or you could upload your photo's to your own gallery and then post them from there ,, If you do not have a gallery yet ,, on the forum main page find the heading for photo gallery support and let Bobby know you want one there .

I can no longer list a graded high value coin with numeric grading in the title on ebay US and give it a fair title that my US$50 for reserve price deserves. All because my rare Australian coin hasn't been slabbed by 1 of 5 American Grading Companies.
Ken send me all your Australian coins and I will be happy to grade them for you and all our Aussie collectors. I will even certify them! But NOTICE I said nothing about sending them back

Here's what I am going to do, and if you have the time, please join me. I am going to send the following email message to aboncom as a General question about every item that does not comply with the policy as stated on ebay: "When listing a certified coin, the coin must be certified by one of the following authorized grading companies: * Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) * Numismatic Conservation Services (NCS) * Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS) * Independent Coin Grading (ICG) * ANACS In addition, listings for certified coins: * Must be assigned the appropriate grading attributes in each listing. Sellers must select the appropriate grading attributes within the Sell Your Item form, including "Grading Company," "Grade" and "Serial Number" provided with that grading. * The listing must include an image of the item, showing the coin in its graded holder, front and back. If the coin listed is not certified by one of the above authorized grading companies, the coin is considered raw/uncertified and is subject to additional requirements for their sale. Apparently, ebay is getting to be as sick of you as the rest of the numismatic community." It won't do much, but it will make me feel better. HABIB

I wrote this to ebay about one of aboncom's listings: Item number(s): 300153303731 L77 $US US !43473! 111398 ?01 -01 Message: I thought you were going to do something about these frauds, or do the rules apply to all sellers EXCEPT aboncom? And I received this in response: Dear ebay Member, Thank you for taking the time to report these potentially violating listings to ebay. At this time we are giving our Coin Community until Oct. 1st before our new policies are enforced straight across the board. If these listings had been reported after 10/1/07 they would indeed be in violation. Because this policy will effect thousands of sellers we are trying to give them some time to revise their listing templates, discuss the policy with us if they have questions and bring their auctions into compliance. Thank you for being a valuable member of the ebay community. Have a wonderful time shopping and selling on ebay! Sincerely, Akira ebay Customer Support

Look, there are exceptions to the PCI/SEGS overgrading rule of thumb of 2 points. But they are VERY rare (in fact I once UPGRADED a PCI gold Morgan from MS65 to MS66, but that was probably a 1 in 1000 occurance). More often, it goes the other way (i.e. a PCI 63 really being an AU58, AU55, or bodybag). However, I am confident than any dealer or collector competent in grading will concur as to the consistent overgrading and slabbing of problem coins by SEGS/PCI. ebay sellers with hundreds of PCI gold slab listings make their living off selling MS63 coins in PCI 65 holders for 64 money. Thankfully, now they will have to find these suckers on the bourse instead of on ebay.
