Moisture In 2014 ATB Proof Packs From Mint.

carmykle Pillar of the Community United States 2448 Posts	Posted 01/15/2015 12:02 pm I was getting ready to break out my ATBs for my album when I discovered moisture in every one of the three 2014 ATB Proof packs from the mint. Anyone else have this problem? Report this Post to the Staff

To me it looks like it's just the plastic coming in contact with the holder pressing up against it. If it was moisture I think there would fog on the lense but when you open yours let me know what you find. Report this Post to the Staff

welder Pillar of the Community United States 1037 Posts	Posted 01/15/2015 3:34 pm Could be an accidental drop of oil on the inside of the of the lens while being assembled. Water would have fogged up the lens or dried out by now. Report this Post to the Staff

omxfl Pillar of the Community United States 1026 Posts	Posted 01/15/2015 9:31 pm It's not moisture, just an optical effect. Normally, there would be plastic-air-plastic, so light would be broken at every interface. If you remove the air and have plastic-plastic only then the refractive index mismatch isn't there anymore. Hence it appears differently to the naked eye. OK, that may not be the scientifically most accurate explanation, but I hope it makes sense. :) Report this Post to the Staff
