Quote: I really like how the number 8 looks like two links of a chain. As do I. One thing I like about early dated coins is how they show the development of numerals- especially the fours, the lambda-shaped sevens, the seven-like fives and the occasional hourglass-shaped eight.

Yes numisma, the evolution of number shapes is interesting. I have done a little bit of effort on the letter "A" here: http://goccf.com/t/264653#2236385Some day, I'll get around to doing more letters and/or numbers...

Quote: Love that 1511 Denar Thanks -- with all the Polish/Lithuanian coins, I thought a denar or two might break the monotony. With that in mind -- Hungary -- 1508 denar:

I can post 1507-1504, and 1502-1501, if required. I wonder if we'll get stuck at 1503 or 1500, before we even reach the 1490s? (I have almost nothing for this thread before 1501.)

Good to see progress over the Holiday. There may be a speed bump or two, but I have no doubt we will get to 1491 as we have before.

Hungary -- 1505 denar: This is my oldest dated denar (I don't have 1504 or 1503).
