Sorry about the picture quality. The person I buy from always sends me terrible shots. From what you can tell, how do you think it grades?

He says it looks better in hand.

It's a little difficult given that the shadows are hiding some of the important features, but given the minor handling seen on the top of the designs on the obverse, I'd go with EF 45 as a safety grade. It might be better, but it's tough to tell from that photo.

Pictures are too poor to judge. Generally I want to see the hair above the ear, the lower 2 curls on the bust and the leaf between the C in cent and the U in united.

I don't know if it's polished, but by those photographs, it may glow in the dark.

If my seller always provided terrible pictures I would find a different seller...

Thats the thing, the photos are normally terrible but the coins are incredible in hand. I'mjust very skeptical of this one because, like one of you mentioned, it looks like it practically glows in the dark.

I personally would not buy any coin based on such a poor quality photo. If he or she has such nice coins for sale they should take better photos. You should politely tell this seller that they are losing potential customers like myself. As a business person this is just poor marketing plain and simple.

I politely asked him for better shots, and this is what he provided me with.

Well, already knowing that the seller is a bit off with photographs, it's hard to determine if there is any cleaning or polishing, because from what I can tell at least, the color is still not represented accurately.

That being said, the detail on the coin appears to be about vf 20. There is a scuff on the rim of the obverse at 4 o'clock. Those original photos from the seller made the coin look a bit more detailed.

The obverse is a little sharper than the reverse.

Ordinary cell phone pics would show us what it looks like more accurately than these do. I always just check my cell photos to make sure they show the true color and likeness of the coin.

Scott.
