I've been trying to cut back a bit this year as I spent way too much at the RCM in 2014. But I really like The Majestic Animal Series so I contacted my rep and he told me it's sold out. I was kind of surprised as he has always been able to get me sold out & "awaiting stock" coins ( even a few 2011 Fabulous 15 coins I was looking for to complete my collection). So I seen it on the Coin Show last night and am considering ordering the subscription from CC&C. It also includes a wooden RCM box a an art card that I don't think RCM offers. The negative thing is the $6.99 S&H but the easy pay is nice. Just wondering if it will hold it's value ?

Yeah your probably right arianzo so I'll probably buy it just because I like the looks of it with no expectations of it holding it's value. I guess that's the reason you should buy a coin anyway.

I just bought one of these a few days ago from the coin show on the shopping channel. I received it in 2 days and it is an impressive looking coin. I was hesitant at first but I am glad now that I purchased it.

@ Sherwood does it really come with a wooden case? I just looked it up and didn't see the case mentioned. I've decided to limit my spending to $1,000 this year and hopefully less. I really love quality color animal coins. They may have a slight chance of staying near issue. A well done animal coin if not over repeated seems to stay close, if using ebay as a yard stick. Wolves are always popular. Tell me what details you know of the case? Reason I'm asking, is Canada post has singles with free shipping. I'm very impressed with the above photos. It's the type of coin, if I had to reduce my collection I'd keep until the end. Like you I've become really frustrated at purchasing at issue, only to find 3 months or so later there's a 15-20% price drop. I feel like an idiot for not waiting. In my situation I can't afford to waste money too often, a person shouldn't need to accept losing money the majority of the time to be a collector. There was a time coins retained their issue price over a long period before some decline set in. The decline wasn't as major as we see today either. The mints need mintages under 5,000, if they plan to keep doing large yearly releases. The post office has the coin with free shipping, but I'd like a case to house them in. A set looks so much more stunning in a nice wooden case in my opinion. Plus then they're all in one place. Do you know if they are selling fast? We're the coins on TV yet and did u see the box? I'm trying to get as much info as possible. It was easier when there wasn't huge monthly selections. My goal is too buy as wisely as possible. So any info would be greatly appreciated.

The shopping channel has both the single coin and subscription available right now. I watched the show tonight and they featured this coin and said that the box will come with the subscription. The mint's site shows "awaiting stock" as its status. The single coin is 555-672 and the subscription is 555-851.

@ pocket change 50, yes it says it comes with a RCM box. Steven Bromberg showed the box on his show and it was a made of dark wood and had the RCM logo on it. He also said it included a signed art card. Here's what the description says at checkout at the Shopping Channel. "A premium wooden Royal Canadian Mint case will be included with the last coin to house all five coins in this collection." I purchased the big coin collection and am finishing off my 2013 F15 but after that I think I'll be very selective. Maybe only the 20 for 20,50 for 50,100 for 100 coins. I spent about $20k last year and being retired I can't maintain that pace. I really like these coins though and am close to pulling the trigger. They only have a mintage of 6500 that isn't too bad.

Thank you for the up date. The coins seem to have the right balance of color & engraving I like. Hopefully the sub don't sell out to quickly. I just found out about it and singing moon mask. So I can only choose 1 I'm being strict with myself. I'm glad you mentioned it's also a single on the coin show, wouldn't want to miss sub with the box. I see the mint isn't including a case unless I didn't read correctly. It says comes in clamshell. Aside from my silver dollars, my other 2 main themes are the moon masks and color animals. I have the first 2 color animals the polar bear/ moose. I wonder if these are another Bromberg commission ? I will check later and see if they have a video up. This concern with will I get it cheaper later, adds a whole new layer to the decision making process.

@ pocket change 50,I don't see where the mint offers the box or art card either. Do you know how many majestic Animal coins their where before this series ? I have 3, the Polar Bear 2014,the Caribou 2014 & the Moose 2015. Do you know if there are any others ?
By the way I just ordered it !

Welcome back pocket change 50 I was beginning to worry. My Question is why is Bromberg giving away Royal Canadian Mint boxes with this subscription on top of the clam shell and beauty boxes and the Royal Canadian Mint is just giving the clam shells and beauty boxes? Shouldn't the RCM be giving away their own boxes? unless Bromberg is the RCM hmmmmm

Ladies and gentlemen, at least part of this series commissioned by CC&C, that's why difference in the package and the art card. About the card - not a first time that CC&C adds it to the coins. So....do not be surprised. You ask about potential future value? My guess - might it will hold, but only because sellers will not be ready to drop it, and do not many dealers will have it, but most likely - there will not be demand: same as always "iconic" animals....

I understand Bromberg and the CC&C giving away the art card, but why is Bromberg and the CC&C giving away Royal Canadian Mint coin cases and not CC&C coin cases? Would be nice if the RCM gave their own cases away for this series...

I think this answers the question as to why the sub sold out so quickly - the coins were commissioned by TSC and the RCM only had a very limited number of subs for sale (w/o a box). CP still has the Bighorn Sheep as well as all other dealers. But these coins are the continuation of the 3 already issued as mentioned above - if the RCM admit it or not. ;)

Quote: The "Iconic Polar Bear" had a mintage of 8,500, and the "Majestic Moose" had a mintage of 7,500, while this new coin has a total mintage of just 6,500 coins. Lower mintage makes for more demand but does the lower mintage drive the demand or is it the actual coin driving the demand, that will dictate long term increase/decrease in value of the coin. Could be fake demand with sellers buying up many coins to resell. Its all about the supply and demand. Its quite demanding of your brain to think about these matters. I demand lower mintages!
