I asked the good folks at Canada Post to do a search of outlets for the subject coin and they found one. I didn't know it was a pad print job but should have. Print of Mom and Dad are OK but the printing on the boy's suit is misaligned. The printing of the sleeve on his left hand is badly off. The right side of the boy (his left) is silver, I have posted a close up of the boy. I like the coin design but this colouring job is kind of sloppy. Maybe a future error coin worth a fortune?

Some will consider it an error, some will consider it bad quality control and worth less than issue price. Personally I wouldn't pay a premium for it, but someone will. Even the big TPG's are getting onboard and noting minor errors on the slab, here is a perfect example... http://www.moorecoins.com/ERROR-Sup...69_i21394956

Interesting, I've seen the extra toed Pachyrhynocerous. I was actually kidding on the extra value. I can see a strike through debris on the gold Superman as being a nice error. But this pad misalignment is pretty common I suspect. Edge lettering missing and strike through are striking issues not pixelated paint layer registration issues which is a quality problem. Not sure if I can get a better one if I return this. Anyone else buy this coin?

That pic is a crop from the original, taken with a normal SLR. I have ordered a Phonescope clip on for a phone camera, was going to order a digital microscope (if that's what you're referring to) but spent $23 instead. I really don't deal in that many coins but love to take pics so I think I will get one eventually. Will see what the cheapo version is like. Have never sold a coin in my life either. Traded a few with CCFers.

There is something wrong with that coin... The little boy looks like an 80 year old man! ;)

So maybe I'm not going crazy?! A few weeks back, the quality of this exact coin (Wait for Me Daddy) had me questioning whether things were declining at the RCM, or if I were simply experiencing " RCM collector's Burnout". Here's a link to that post: https://goccf.com/t/193317 For some reason, I had high expectations for this coin, and it just didn't live up to them upon reception. The print looked cheap and somewhat "off"... the colors weren't 100%, and the print wasn't perfectly centered. Fortunately, a few recent acquisitions rekindled my spirits... loving the $25 for $25 colored flag, my "Exploring Canada" series continues to grow on me (only wish that the display case were a bit nicer), and the Great Lakes series appears to be ending with a bang! Maybe we'll just chalk the colorized "Wait For Me Daddy" coin up as a miss... should have stuck with the 1/4oz uncolored version!

So its an error coin? Supposed to have a child but has a grumpy old man with dwarfism. That should increase its value...

Shifting back to the topic of "pad printing", I'm wondering if someone could explain the various methods of applying color to a coin? I'm relatively new to this realm, and any education / knowledge here would be appreciated!

Seeing the price of this coin at $30 above issue from Imaginaire. I would also like to know about the pad printing process. Seems to me that a few coloured coins of late are less appealing than expected.
