New To Coins..need All The Help I Can Get!

jmbankcoin123 New Member United States 11 Posts	Posted 02/09/2015 01:51 am I just recently got sucked into this whole coin thing and I love it, but I know nothing!! So now I have all these coins that I think may be error coins but I can't tell. I'd like help in identifying them but first I need to know how to take clear and close enough pictures to show the detail, any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated Report this Post to the Staff

CopperCastle Pillar of the Community United States 1132 Posts	Posted 02/09/2015 02:03 am If you don't own a jewelers loupe, that's a great place to start. I use a 16x, but many prefer 5x-10x. Lighting is key, so play around with different angles & see what works well. Great photos can be had with nothing more than a cell-phone camera & a loupe. Buddy Rest in Peace United States 7075 Posts	Posted 02/09/2015 12:34 pm John1 is right -- tell us what you're using to take pics and/or just take a pic, post it in the photography section explaining what you used for a camera, etc. Someone will come along and offer suggestions. A lot of folks have some pretty sophisticated equipment, but you can get decent pics with less expensive equipment. I use a USB microscope for pics. The LED lights are a pain but I manage. Good luck.
