bob , here your oillamp , the only one I have , it is from Palestine dated around the bird of Jesus Christ. the second pic is a upper part of a roman marble sarcophagus , first century BC , found near Rome . It represents a mourning woman in high reliëf . Many of these sarcophagi were imported in the roman mediterranean world from today Turkey .There were prepared in the quary ,shiped to destination and then finished by local artists who sculpted the faces ... albert

@Tunnioc, I am curious, where did you find that? What material is it?

It appears to be made of clay. My friend brought several of these displays back from California in the 1980's.

@Tunnic I dont think your statue is pre - Colombian, but rather a modern reproduction. The tools and such look fine but without expert knowledge and having them in hand it would be tough to authenticate. Some day I would like to find a large early Clovis point.

From my collection we have a child's toy. It is a (terracotts style) Brahman bull. It is (up to) 5,000 years old. These would be made in pairs and would be supplied with a wooden cart making a 'efigy' of the transport of the time. This period is before the use of horses. Children would play with them much like children of today play with cars and trucks. 4 inches x 3.75 inches x 2.25 inches

Not so cute (to some) is this (up to 28 million year old) Megalodon (Shark) tooth that measures 5.25 inches x 4.5 inches and weighs some 312 gm (Photographed beside a 1980 Susan B. Anthony dollar)
