With the discussions on Key dates lately, I'd like to see what coin in your collection has the lowest mintage, whether its 200 million or 2! This would be mine, an 1893 PR63 BR Indian cent. Mintage 2195.....

My lowest-mintage "Numismatic Item": Trade dollar from Wildwood, Alberta. Recorded mintage: 750. (Still greater than the population of Wildwood!!) My lowest-mintage coin is probably some Franklin Mint sets-only world issue; I have a Papua New Guinean sets-only coin with a mintage of about ~4,000. But I have yet to make good scans of the thing.

Are we talking TPG population or official mintage.

Don't go by TPG population.

This is close. Here are my top few from memory: 1. 1881-P 3 Cent Nickel -- Mintage: 1,077,000 2. 1996-W Roosevelt dime -- Mintage: 1,457,000 3. 1950-D Jefferson nickel -- Mintage: 2,630,030 If we're going by population for TPG's: 1: 1945-D Jefferson nickel MS66 -- Pop. Higher: 226 2. 1946-D Jefferson nickel MS65FS -- Pop. Higher: 332 Also, awesome topic. It'll be fun to see others. Sorry for lack of pics.

I'm pretty sure there's some kind of large cupronickel commemorative from a small nation (I keep thinking Dominican Republic) with a 30,000 mintage in there. Don't recall specifically.
Other than that... well my Armenian commemorative 50 dram has a 50,000 mintage, and I got it in change (in Armenia, obviously, and that's a pretty small country, but still).

Of all coins/tokens listed in Krause: Rupee 1913 Keeling-Cocos-Islands - KM#Tn5 Total mintage was 2,000 but since each is numbered (this one is #760), might as well claim that it is unique.

Most New Zealand commemorative except the royal themed ones from 1990 onward have a maximum mintage of 4000 and a few around the 1200 mintage mark. New Zealands most sort after coin is the 1935 Waitangi Crown with a mintage of only 1128 that includes the 468 proofs made. We also had a number of years 1933-1965 where between 40,000 and 500,000 were produced of some coins

Cook Islands 1979 dollar from Special Uncirculated Set. According to Krause, mintage is 500. Proof coins of this date (which have frosted relief) are much commoner.

I heard some guys talking and laughing in the coin store a couple months ago, the dealer and a customer, I asked them what was so funny and he showed me that coin and said that the guys you know what was hanging out, he had a hand full of them so I'm kind of confused. Isn't that viewed as inappropriate numismatic content haha.
