Ive got a 1937 Wheat penny that I found years ago and ive been trying to find out if its worth anything or what I even have here. I've searched around online and cant find much information. Any help would be great
Ya its not what it is supposed to be for sure. I dont know a whole lot about coins. I assume if you say "botched" that would mean I can add it to purse collection?
i was also trying to figure out this magnetic non magnetic stuff and I have a very weak magnet but it does try to pick the penny up. doesn't that mean it was a steal (silver color) originally and some how got partially dipped in copper? but did they make 1937 steal penny ? I'm so confused by all of this
1943 was the only year they made Zinc-coated steel cents. Your 1937 cent looks like it was dipped into something. The book you need is the Red Book, " United States coins" by R.S Yeoman. You should be able to find one in any good book store.
