You are correct leon. I've only been paying attention to the gold and silver Markets since 2012, but they do seem to take a plunge in May.

Gold is close to 1170 now.

Now you know why APMEX was selling gold at spot?

You were pretty instantly correct this time leon! Will they continue to offer it at spot if the price continues to drop the next few days/weeks/months?

@realmoney,

I believe gold will break the previous low of 1130. Silver will follow gold as well, below 15.

According to latest futures report, Commercial Traders are still sitting huge amount of short contracts against gold.

Hopefully this week's FOMC meeting will bring silver below $15.

I believe silver will hit low $14s in the following week or two; then my $17 ASE will come true.

I think a lot of us were waiting for sub-$15 to pull the trigger on silver purchases. Oh well.

IMO, I would be stunned if it gets below $15... Seems like when it is going to touch sub $15 it shoots up like a rocket... Kinda like gasoline, goes down 20 cents and then shoots up 30 to 50 cents...

I only got 20 rounds when silver hit $15.32 two weeks ago. Didn't buy much; since I was waiting for $14.

Gold and Silver miner stocks were hit hard today; let's hope for some lower price ahead since miners usually lead metals.

My magic number is $20.00. With a buying addiction like mine, I can't look at silver below $20 and pass on it. I can't see the sense in waiting days and weeks for the price to drop when every fiber in my body is yelling, "Buy, Buy, Buy !

for the amount most of us collect, the difference between spot price at $15 and spot price at $16 isn't worth worrying about.

Either both prices are great long term or both are a waste of time.

Wanted to make a nice (large) short-term purchase of bullion, buy at (including premium) <$16 per ounce, sell at >$18 per ounce. It hit the sub $16 for a while, but I foolishly thought to wait, thinking I could get <$15.50 instead of just a few cents under $16. Could have been $100+ richer right now. Ah, well. Maybe next time, right?

I mean, there's gotta be another massive drop before the steady correction upwards cycle begins again, right? Right? (Hoping against all hope there'll be a couple more of massive drops and okay rises before the big rise)

I don't disagree but it doesn't really matter as long as we're sensibly buying on the uptick.
