1924-P Peace Dollar Lamination Peel?

ilikeikes Pillar of the Community United States 1205 Posts	Posted 02/19/2015 5:28 pm Just wanted to check with all of you that this most likely is a lamination issue? The metal peels up, leaving a small gap between surfaces, unlike a die crack, which lays flat. There are no other areas in question, or, die cracks I can see..pretty basic 24-P strike..I bought this HOPING it was a die crack, as none are listed in Vamworld for this issue. SilverStackerKid Pillar of the Community United States 6478 Posts	Posted 02/19/2015 5:31 pm Possibly a Retained Cud if it is a die crack. It does cast a shadow but that could be peeling OR a DEEP die crack. Looks like a lamination though. Report this Post to the Staff

My best theory is the damage happened when coin was struck, maybe impurities on blank, or, a blank just having a bad day..maybe someone put more tonnage on the press, to see where the high end would be, before damage made, then, back it off a tad..oh to be in the rooms...
