Well well well, another (almost) 2 years with no activity on this thread. I want to give a shout out to GR58 for initiating this thread and regaling us with so many fabulous photos. And now, with the arrival of my Apollo 50th Anniversary 5-oz saucers, I thought this would be a good time to revive it. Packaging (LtR: box lid, closed clamshell in box bottom w/ COA on top, slip cover): Coin in clam shell with COA (remind anyone of "Pretty Woman"?): Obverse: Reverse:

Ok, I wanted to keep this thread going since it's kind of a museum of U.S. Mint OGP. Here we have photos of the 2019 Explore and Discover Coin Set™. Product code: 19XGB. Original issue price: $19.95. Contains 6 2019-dated Denver mint coins (uncirculated dime, uncirculated nickel, uncirculated cent, proof Native American dollar, Proof Kennedy half, proof Lowell quarter) and one cent planchet. Has a small plastic magnifying glass and 4 slots for the other 4 2019 ATB Quarters. All 3 parts of the packaging. From LtR: slip cover, tri-fold folder, activity book: Pages 1 and 4 of the folder (left page of tri-fold opened, right page closed): Pages 2 and 3 of the folder (center page of trifold and right page opened). Pages 5 and 6 of the folder (the center page of the tri-fold with the flip-up page flipped up). The optimizer cropped the "Uncirculated Coins" part below the "Six Fun Facts", but it (obviously) tells a little about uncirculated coins: Pages 1 and 2 of the activity book: Pages 3 and 4 of the activity book: Pages 5 and 6 of the activity book: Backs of all 3 main parts. From RtL: Slip Cover/COA, activity book/answers, main folder/specifications.

Quote: I keep thinking I need to do a photo shoot of my OGP stuff. I think you should! Going back through this thread, clairhardesty posted a montage in October of 2016 of all the Uncirculated $1 sets to (that) date (2007, 2008, 2012-2015). It did not include the 2016 set because it had not yet been released. Here, then, is the 2016 Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set: Slip cover and opened 5-coin set (ASE; Native American $1; and Nixon, Ford, and Reagan $1 Presidential): The set: The coins: 2016 is the last year that the U.S. Mint produced the $1 Unc Coin Set (at least, so far).

Quote: I want to give a shout out to GR58 for initiating this thread and regaling us with so many fabulous photos. This is such a fantastic thread for those of use who love OGP! And who knows, maybe it'll convince some of the naysayers? Here is the 2019 American Legion 100th Anniversary Commemorative Silver Dollar and Medal Set, containing one American Legion 100th Anniversary Proof Silver Dollar and one American Veterans Silver Medal. There is a product limit of 10,000 sets and the silver medal is unique to the set. Both coin and medal were produced at the Philadelphia Mint. First up, the packaging. The photo below shows the outer sleeve, box, and COA. Inside the box is a black, clamshell case containing the coin and medal. Here are closeups of the coin and medal. The packaging is standard for the Mint, but I like it. Out of curiosity, does anyone know when the Mint shifted the color of the clamshell cases from blue to black?

Quote: The 2013 Limited Edition Silver set is already toning in the OMG packaging ...This shouldn't happen so soon. That is not expected. Where do you store this?

I too LOVE this topic. I have been collecting since 1963 . I am enjoying the OGP sets. I would like to post 'a few ' of my own, I am NOT that good at posting and taking pictures. PLEASE accept my apology. I am going to go out on a limb here. I do NOT see any sets earlier than 1964. Really. I am thinking the collectors of the page are mostly new at the hobby, I mean no disrespect. I was looking through these pages and noticed the above-mentioned facts. WOW, where have all the old school, collectors gone? PS, Please do not take my comments out of context, I am making an observation about this site, Many newish collectors, NOT so many old school OGP'g collectors..... ANY 1930's or 1940's or 1950's proof sets, How about any 1940's or 1950's Mint sets ? PS Enjoy! Keep up the Great work, Love the OGP'G . I stand corrected, I rechecked and saw one the first page, a 1955 proof set, also saw sets from 1956 too.!!!!topic........

ANY 1930's or 1940's or 1950's proof sets, How about any 1940's or 1950's Mint sets ? You are generally correct it seems. I posted a 1947 Mint Set on Page 11. I think it is very hard to find a 1942 or earlier proof set in OGP. Here are a few photos or older sets though. 1940 10-pack of proof cents in original government cellos. Really wish I had the shipping package for these. Two 1942 proof sets in original government cellos. 1952 and 1954 proof sets. Note the change in the original packaging material. These were forther wrapped in tissue paper and put inside a small box. 1952-1954 proof sets in OGP boxes. Some of these are unopened.
