Wonder if there is any safe way to improve the appearance. The tan desert patina doesn't detract, but..I was just wondering

I'm of the opinion you could "alter" the look, but probably not "improve" it.

That's kind of what I was thinking as well. What one has to come to expect from a 352 year old coin
