It's a 1945 Dos Peso ring for $120, see if I can upload an image. I think I did well. I don't know I've tried for about 10 minutes, and have actually uploaded a picture here... I don't know what the problem is. the band is 14kt gold. I also found two 40% JFK's for $4 that are in great shape. I want to post a picture of a pendant I have that I'm curious on what others think, I'll try and find a different forum for that, here's a possible picture of the ring. https://scontent-lax.xx.fbcdn.net/h...&oe=554A569A

The band may be 583 gold, but may not add much to the weight, thus value, of the coin. For reference: you can see retail price here http://www.apmex.com/product/1048/m...-random-yearYou paid above retail for your ring, IMO. The 40%ers you did well on; they could fetch $5 together.

I'm not so sure you overpaid. I've had several of those pass through my hands over the last few years. It's hard to tell from the picture but it looks like a mans ring. If so I strongly suspect there is more gold in the ring than there is in the coin.

Well the coin is basically .5 gram of 24kt gold, and he ring is stamped 14kt. I weighed it and it weighs 5.6 grams... so just in gold weight .5g = $19.33 and then 5.1 grams of 14kt = 115.01... so just in gold weight I paid what it was worth $120, plus I will now wear it, makes a nice little pinky ring.

If that is the case then I would say you did quite alright...

Plus I'm sure if the coin was taken out, I'm getting into jewelry making and soldering, the 1945 dos peso should be worth more than just it's weight, I would think? Not by a lot, but I'm sure 1945 dos peso's go for something, guess I'll have to look on APMEX.

I wouldn't worry about value. If your happy with what you got, that is all that is important.

Dos Pesos sell for about $70 on ebay. Add that to the roughly $110 for the ring itself & you got a deal.

I thought the weight of the Dos Pesos sounded off. Based on the correct info you are still looking at $70 for the coin & about $90 for the ring. Still a good deal.
